Our materials

A rigorous selection of materials to meet the construction constraints of our products, the functional specifications of our bags and our desire to offer sustainable materials that are as environmentally friendly as possible.

Smooth full-grain leather

Our smooth leathers are semi-vegetable tanned. This process uses far fewer chemicals than mineral tanning, while maintaining the leather's resistance to everyday wear and tear. In our view, this is the optimum balance for maintaining a natural finish on our leathers, while guaranteeing a long product life.

These smooth leathers are available in 4 colors: black, cognac, navy and brown.

Full-grain grained leather

Our grained leathers are built in the same vein as our smooth leathers: a semi-vegetable tanning, which offers beautiful nuances of color. This leather has a matte finish that perfectly matches our smooth leather. Full-grain leather (the best part of the hide), selected with the utmost care by our tannery.

Semi-vegetable tanning

Our aim at lundi is to use the most natural leathers possible, which will develop a patina over time while retaining their color and mechanical properties. This is an equation that we are able to solve by working hand-in-hand with expert tanneries that are sensitive to our needs. This mixed tanning process limits the use of chemical products in favor of natural materials (tree bark). - read more.

Saffiano full-grain leather

This full-grain leather features a surface embossing that guarantees very high scratch resistance. This leather has a satin finish, and will be available in 3 different colors: black, blue and navy. Deep, dense tones that won't fade over time.

Leather certification

All our leathers are LWG (Leather Working Group) certified. This label is responsible for assessing tanneries around the world and encouraging best practice and positive social and environmental change in responsible leather production.

Leather Working Group is a global non-profit organization created in 2005 with footwear, apparel, home furnishings and leather manufacturers.

Committed to building a sustainable future, it promotes best practice and positive social and environmental change for responsible leather production, and aspires to become the global standard for leather manufacturing, covering all elements and players in the leather value chain.

An audit protocol is designed by LWG to assess the performance of leather manufacturing facilities (Tanneries) against environmental, social and governance parameters. It assesses leather manufacturers on the following aspects:

  • Water and energy consumption
  • Solid waste and effluent management
  • Air and noise emissions
  • Traceability
  • Health & Safety
  • Chemicals management
  • Restricted substances, compliance and Chrome VI management

Water-repellent cotton canvas

This cotton canvas is of French origin. Its finish makes it highly resistant to everyday snags. Thanks to its water-repellent treatment, water will slide off the surface and this canvas will be much easier to clean. Its slightly faded appearance will blend perfectly with our smooth cognac and black leather. A canvas found on all our bag formats.
